Durst is planning to build important new business opportunities across Benelux in a cooperation agreement with Wifac, a company with expert label and packaging knowledge across the European countries and beyond. Wifac’s local knowledge in customer sales and service support is part of the distributor deal involving Durst’s label and packaging businesses. The digital inkjet systems – the Durst Tau 330 and 330E machines – are complemented by low migration and low odor inks, suitable for primary food packaging, as well as pharmaceutical sectors. Wifac, which has offices in Belgium and The Netherlands, will also be the supply point for inks and consumables for all Durst Tau systems. In September, Durst and Wifac hosted two customer and industry events to explain more details about the collaboration. The first was at Affligem in Belgium, and the other was at Wifac’s premises in Mijdrecht, between Utrecht and Amsterdam. “Durst has an enviable reputation in the marketplace for providing high-quality inkjet products across a range of markets,” says Robbert Amse, Wifac’s press and packaging sales director. “In view of our international drive and continual expansion, especially in the label and packaging industry, this collaboration is a logical step forward for us and offers Durst an important opportunity for business growth into these new markets. “We’re delighted to be adding Durst systems and complementary products to our broader program that will include extensive service and support,” he adds. “Adding Durst is one of our steps to reach a complete A-brand portfolio for the label and packaging market. The synergy will provide a strong partnership, which will be beneficial to our customers.” “This is part of a wider strategic plan to ensure that we have local market presence and opportunities in Benelux through a company that is widely respected in the industry both for current and future customers,” explains Mike Englander, Durst Phototechnik’s business development manager, Labels & Packaging Printing. “Together with the Durst team, I look forward to supporting Wifac in what we are all confident is a win-win situation for the two companies and represents an expansion of our offering in what is another important market.“
